Microsoft keeps making its Band wearable better. The Redmond giant has added integrations with bike-tracking apps Strava and MapMyRide, as well as further insights based on the information captured by the Band’s built-in sensors.
Mentioned insights are visible on the Microsoft Health Web Dashboard, from where users can review their activity captured by the band. The Health platform added comparisons with other Band wearers based on height and weight, allowing users to see how they stack up — this feature is accessed on an opt-in basis and the data is anonymized. Additionally, users can also see how their body is restoring overnight during sleep and their fitness improvements over time.
Moreover, the Band is now capable of measuring VO2 Max, which represents the maximum volume of oxygen used during an exercise, based on heart rate data. Plus, users can see what day and time of day workouts are most effective for them.

In February, Microsoft Band got improved cycling programs, sleep and calorie tracking, virtual keyboard, MapMyFitness integration, and an SDK to allow third party developers to use the data collected by the Band.
