Europe’s DocPlanner raises $10M for its doctor booking platform

Poland-based online booking platform DocPlanner has secured $10 million in Series B round, led by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), with participation from several angels and investors including Fabrice Grinda (Airbnb, Uber), Lukasz Gadowski (Delivery Hero), along with existing investors Point Nine Capital, Piton Capital and RTAventures. The company, which has raised around $14 million to date, plans to use the fresh capital for continued expansion, focusing on Southern European markets. Additionally, some of the funding will be used to intensify DocPlanner’s monetization in existing markets via marketing and increased sales efforts, as well as to bring new people, including an experienced CMO.

DocPlanner now has around seven million uniques per month, making it the largest medical booking platform in Europe.Previously, DocPlanner secured $1 million Series A at the end of 2012. Its service is now live in 25 markets across Europe, Africa, Asia and Latin America — namely Argentina, Austria, Bulgaria, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Czech Republic, Germany, Turkey, Spain, France, Hungary, Indonesia, India, Italy, Mexico, Peru, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Russia, Sweden, Slovakia, Ukraine and South Africa.

The company offers bookable services by private healthcare providers such as individual practitioners and small clinics, plus dentists and other healthcare professionals like dietitians and psychologists. DocPlanner now has around seven million uniques per month, making it the largest medical booking platform in Europe. It also has more than 100,000 appointments booked, and some 1.4 million doctors and dentists on the platform. The company charges providers a fixed fee plus a commission per booked appointment.
