Atlas Wearables launches Atlas Engine app for iPhone users

Atlas Engine app

Atlas Wearables is launching its first-ever mobile app, Atlas Engine, which was developed as an algorithmic test bed for the upcoming Atlas Wristband.

Available as a free download for iPhone users, the application goes beyond simple step counting and heart rate; it automatically recognizes exercises, then counts reps and analyzes form.

“The more we used Atlas Engine internally in developing our Wristband, the more we realized it’s a powerful product in its own right,” said Peter Li, CEO of Atlas Wearables. “We thought we’d share it with our incredibly patient and supportive community as a sneak peek of what’s to come.”

Atlas Engine launches with the Basic Bodyweight Package that includes support for push-ups, sit-ups (with 3 hand placement variations), jumping jacks, burpees, prisoner squats, alternating prisoner lunges, with additional exercises coming in the future.

Atlas Wristband is in the final stages of production and is expected to ship in late July. The wearable device has raised more than $600,000 in a crowdfunding campaign on Indiegogo.
