Medaxion raises $1.3M for mobile-based anesthesiology EHR

Nashville, Tennessee-based Medaxion has raised $1.3 million, according to an SEC filing, bringing the company’s total funding to at least $5 million to date.

Called Medaxion Pulse, Medaxion’s service sings along iOS-based devices, helping anesthesiologists with documentation and communication. The system enables clinical team and administrative staff to keep up with updates on patient’s status, including event times, case providers, vital signs chart, procedures and patient history.

Medaxion Pulse uses this data to create quality improvement reports and management reports, that include things like billable hours by provider, procedures by provider, and operating room utilization.

The company’s other offering, called Medaxion Q, helps anesthesiologists with regulatory reporting. It provides detailed reports on a number of quality measures like antibiotic administration, surgery start, patient arrival, and patient ready, help users generate accurate quality improvement reports.
