Planned Parenthood launched a new mobile app that allows users to order confidential Chlamydia and Gonorrhea testing. Called Planned Parenthood Direct, the application is available as a free download for iOS and Android device owners in California.

The app allows users to order a Planned Parenthood Direct test kit; with this Kit, users send a urine sample directly to Planned Parenthood labs and get test results privately through the app. If test results are positive, users are informed how to obtain treatment. In addition, users are able to send questions directly to Planned Parenthood doctors.

“We developed Planned Parenthood Direct to reach tech-savvy people who may not have the time to visit a local health center and for those who may feel more comfortable with the privacy that a mail-in STD test provides,” said Heather Saunders Estes, CEO of Planned Parenthood Northern California. “This app is also a great way for people in rural or otherwise hard-to-reach areas.”

The cost to order Planned Parenthood Direct is $149 and users can pay through the app using a credit or debit card.
