Garmin HRM-Tri and HRM-Swim water-proof heart rate monitors

Garmin unveiled a pair underwater heart rate monitors, HRM-Tri and HRM-Swim, both capable of storing up to 20 hours of heart rate data during swims, and sending real-time heart rate when they are out of the water.

The first of the two devices, HRM-Tri, is specifically designed for triathletes, featuring an easily adjustable strap with soft, rounded edges and covered seams for maximum comfort both inside and outside of the water.

After the swim, users are able to analyze their heart rate data in-depth on Garmin Connect and Garmin Connect Mobile. The second device, HRM-Swim, is described as “durable and compact” and is deemed “ideal for capturing heart rate while training in the pool.”

After the swim, users are able to analyze their heart rate data in-depth on Garmin Connect and Garmin Connect Mobile, where they can save, plan and share activities, use social media sharing and live track. Detailed metrics are also available, from brick workouts to pool swims, including pace, strokes, SWOLF, heart rate graphs, mapping and more.

HRM-Tri and HRM-Swim will begin shipping in the third quarter of the year and will be available individually for a suggested retail price of $129.99 and $99.99, respectively, or as an accessory bundle for $199.99.
