Medtep raises $2M to support its international expansion

Medtep

Medtep — which provides digital therapeutics for disease prevention, treatment and wellness — has raised $2 million in seed funding round led by the Mexican Investment Fund Stella Maris Partners. Also participating were American and Spanish investors and business angels. The startup will use the capital to further its growth in the United Stated, Latin Marica and Europe.

“This capital gives us additional resources to expand quickly and strategically, especially in the USA and LatAm,” said Pablo Pantaleoni CEO of Medtep. “We will be able to develop our roadmap rapidly and deliver our vision among patients and users around the world.”

Founded in 2011 in Barcelona, Spain – the Medtep team has recently moved to San Francisco, and today it has more than 20 large international contracts. In the last trimester, the company surpassed 100,000 users who rely on its two sided platform to take control of their treatment by keeping track of different follow-up plans defined by healthcare professionals and personally adapted to users’ conditions.

Medtep’s solution adapts to the specific and temporary conditions of the patient, fostering a behavioral change and improving the treatment compliance. It complements and aggregates today’s medical histories, apps, sensors and devices to unify and provide meaning to medical and lifestyle-related data.
