Glow is launching a new app, Ruby by Glow, which enables women to manage their sex life, their cycle and their health.
With a strong education component, the free to download app provides women with knowledge about their sexual health, leading to a better sense of self, better decision making, and fewer unplanned pregnancies.
Ruby community offers a place to ask any type of question and gather feedback and opinions from other women going through similar experiences.Integrated with Apple’s HealthKit platform, Ruby allows women to track their sex and health information, the information that is later used to recognize correlations and patterns across their cycles. It boasts a fancy-lookin’ health feed that makes it easy to view current and upcoming cycles by swiping up or down, allowing for the detection of unexpected patterns. Finally, there’s quick access to the Ruby community, offering a place to ask any type of question and gather feedback and opinions from other women going through similar experiences.
As part of the launch, Ruby has partnered with Huru International, which is a nonprofit that provides menstrual hygiene supplies and sex education to young women in the developing world, where women can lack access to feminine products so they’re often forced to miss school and work during their period. For each mention of Ruby on social media using hashtag #TalkRubyToMe, Glow will give a young woman a day back – either at school or at work.
“From launch, Glow has been focused on giving women more insight and control over their reproductive health. Ruby continues that mission, aiming to empower and educate women on a global scale,” said Jennifer Tye, VP of Partnerships and Marketing at Glow. “We designed Ruby to be the essential health and sex app that is 100% focused on you. To offer young women a way to embrace their bodies and better understand their health really drives us.”
