One of the most popular Android Wear smart watches, Moto 360, just got an update in the form of an entire product range that includes the 46mm Moto 360, 42mm Mens Moto 360, 42mm Womens Moto 360, and a rubberized Moto 360 Sport.
The 2015 lineup sports a refreshed case design that adds lugs to the outside instead of the internal strap connector, making it easier to swap straps. Auto-brightness and circular display remain in place, while the single button on the outside has been slightly moved and is now easier to reach.
The three non-sport versions of the Moto 360 are already up for pre-order today on the Google Store and Motorola.com, with prices ranging from $299 to $429.The screen is protected by Gorilla Glass 3, but inside we find Qualcomm’s 1.2GHz Snapdragon 400 processor, instead of Moto’s own chip. There’s also 512MB of RAM as well as 4GB of internal storage, an array of sensors for fitness/health tracking, and 300 or 400 mAh battery depending on the watch size. This battery, Motorola claims, should provide a full day of mixed use with its always-on LCD display and double that if ambient mode has been turned off.
The Moto 360 Sport deserves its own paragraph; while it won’t include support for replaceable straps — it has a silicone strap, instead — this model will come with IP67 rating for water and dust. Also, the Sport will have a built-in GPS and a hybrid reflective display Motorola calls AnyLight.
Another new thing is Moto Maker, using which customers are able to customize the parts that make up the outside of the watch. These would include casing, bezel design, strap size and purpose.
The three non-sport versions of the Moto 360 are already up for pre-order today on the Google Store and Motorola.com, with prices ranging from $299 to $429. In-store, these devices will be available at Best Buy, Verizon Wireless, and Nordstrom starting later this month. Moto 360 Sport will start selling later this year.
