Shanghai, China-based Quyi has closed a $40 million Series B funding round led by Baidu with participation from existing investors, HighLight Capital and SB China Capital.

Founded in May 2015, Quyi’s flagship product — called Quyiyuan — provides patients with all kinds of services from scheduling appointments, checking diagnosis reports, to making payments.

The company’s other product, Quyi Hospital, is a telemedicine system that brings together doctors to patients on mobile or in far-flung areas. Quyi plans to roll out a new product to connect medical institutions and medical instrument manufacturers.

The company claims to have more than thousand public hospitals on board and expects to double the number by the end of this year.

This, of course, is not Baidu’s first digital health venture; it already offers Beijing Health Cloud and mobile app Baidu Doctor, among other things.

Quyi has raised $8.5 million Series A round in September 2014.
