Your.MD, which makes a smart personal health assistant for mobile phones, has invested an undisclosed amount of money in Doctoori.net, the fast-growing health portal targeting the Arabic speaking world; both companies rely on NHS-provided information to deliver advice on primary care issues.
Doctoori.net on its end gains the ability to offer its users Your.MD’s technology to strengthen its position within the Arabic-speaking mobile market.Your.MD has developed an Artificial Intelligence-powered symptom checker to provide users with information about their conditions, possible causes and what steps they could take to remedy their illness, including when to see a doctor. On the other hand, Doctoori.net provides Arabic speakers with information about conditions, treatments and well-being advice, alongside a range of tools that help users assess their likelihood of suffering from diabetes, determine their Health Age or calculate their pregnancy due-date.
The strategic partnership provides Your.MD with a platform for the future expansion of its mobile personal health assistant in the Middle East and with the global Arabic speaking mobile user-base. Doctoori.net on its end gains the ability to offer its users Your.MD’s technology to strengthen its position within the Arabic-speaking mobile market. Also as part of the deal, Dr. Zain Sikafi, founder and MD of Doctoori.net, has been appointed as Head of Medical Innovation at Your.MD where he will supervise all medical aspects of the service.
“This partnership is a significant step towards providing unparalleled medical innovation to our users, not only in the Arabic world but globally,” said Matteo Berlucchi, CEO of Your.MD. “We are delighted to have joined forces with Doctoori.net and to have Dr Sikafi on board at Your.MD as we advance in our mission to be the number one healthcare assistant on the market.”
