TomTom Spark GPS Fitness Watch range unveiled

TomTom Spark GPS Fitness Watch

TomTom is out with a new smart watch range called TomTom Spark GPS Fitness Watch, which is (obviously) made for sports and fitness enthusiasts. The range will include the following models: TomTom Spark GPS Fitness Watch, TomTom Spark Cardio GPS Fitness Watch, TomTom Spark Music GPS Fitness Watch, TomTom Spark Cardio + Music GPS Fitness Watch, TomTom Spark Music GPS Fitness Watch + Bluetooth Headphones, and TomTom Spark Cardio + Music GPS Fitness Watch + Bluetooth Headphones.

The company, which we know best for their navigation products and services, is especially emphasizing the watch’s ability to store (up to 3GB) and play music without a connected smartphone, though as we know, that’s something pretty much any smart watch can do these days.

The watch can stream music to Bluetooth headphones, and comes preloaded with Running Trax, a thirty minute mix of high energy, upbeat dance anthems from some of the world’s best DJs, curated by Ministry of Sound. Playlists can also be downloaded to TomTom Spark from iTunes or Windows Media Player.

mHealth-wise, TomTom Spark will track things like steps, active minutes, distance, calories burned, speed, heart rate and sleep duration. Users can set and track daily and weekly goals and follow progress on their watch or via the TomTom MySports app. Supported sport activities include running, cycling, swimming, treadmill and gym workouts, while the data collected can be reviewed on other platforms including TomTom MySports, RunKeeper, Nike+ and more.

TomTom Spark Cardio +Music is now up for pre-order for 249 Euros. The full range will be available in stores in October.

A year ago, the company announced TomTom Golfer, a smart watch for golfers.
