Health IT startup Redox has raised $3.5 million as part of a Series A round to expand its sales efforts and grow its staff. .406 Ventures led the round with participation from Flybridge Capital Partners and HealthX Ventures.
Founded by former employees of Epic Systems, the company offers an API for health IT companies so their software tools can be more easily integrated by health systems’ disparate health record systems. According to Redox CEO and co-founder Niko Skievaski, there are already over 130 organizations taking advantage of the API.
The company currently has five employees in Madison and five scattered throughout the country, as well as desk spaces in Houston at TMC|X and in Chicago at MATTER.
One of Redox clients is Gauss Surgical, which makes an iPad app that can measure blood loss and which uses Redox’s API to communicate back and forth with a patient’s health record.
