Seamless Medical raises $2.5M for its iPad-based registration process

Seamless Medical Systems raised $2.5 million in a round led by Sun Mountain Capital and New England Development Investments.

The company has developed a software as a service offering that uses iPads rather than paper forms, reducing registration time from 30 minutes to 10 or less. Data from Seamless flows into the provider’s EMR system, eliminating manual data entry, paper, printing, shredding and filing. This process saves time, reduces costs and waste, and delivers more accurate data, resulting in fewer errors and denied insurance claims.

The Seamless Paperless Patient Intake solution is currently deployed in 25 states, has logged over 1 million patient encounters and has increased front office productivity of Seamless Medical’s clients by 20 percent or more. The company will use the new funds to triple in size in 2016.

Data from Seamless flows into the provider’s EMR system, eliminating manual data entry, paper, printing, shredding and filing.“This has been a breakout year for Seamless Medical, with our successful integration with some of the industry’s top EMR systems, the adoption of our solution by prominent health systems and several of the nation’s fastest growing retail and urgent care clinics,” said CEO and Founder David Perez. “These funds will enable us to accelerate our national rollout and rapidly deploy to new clients currently in negotiations.”

In January, Seamless Medical received $750,000 from The Kresge Foundation and California Healthcare as part of a Partnering for Impact Initiative. The investment supports the rollout of the Seamless solution to Federally Qualified Health Clinics and safety net providers nationwide.
