Philosys has received FDA clearance for its Gmate SMART Blood Glucose Monitoring System and App for Android. The Gmate SMART is a small, portable blood glucose meter that plugs into the headphone jack of a smartphone and provides fast blood glucose test results. Together with the app, it turns pretty much any smartphone running iOS or Android into a mobile blood glucose monitoring system.

The free-to-download Gmate SMART app provides better diabetes management including goal setting, graphing and the ability to email or text your blood glucose test results directly to a family member or healthcare provider. The application can store an unlimited number of test results with the date and time, and there’s also the option to add custom comments, actions or notes to each result.
