Hexoskin Smart shirt surpasses its crowdfunding goal within 24 hours

Hexoskin Smart

It was two years ago when Hexoskin managed to raise 166 percent of its crowdfunding goal for its “World’s First Biometric Smart Shirt,” and now they’re doing it again.

The Montreal, Canada-based company has yet again surpassed its funding goal of $50,000, and this time round – it took them less than 24 hours.

Right now, Hexoskin is taking pre-order for the Hexoskin Smart, a sensor-embedded smart shirt that adds compatibility with fitness tracking apps to the mix. These apps include the likes of Strava, Runkeeper, Runtastic, Endomondo, and MapMyRun.

The shirt monitors metrics like heart rate, breathing, and movement to provide “valuable insights on intensity and recovery, calories burned, fatigue level, and sleep quality.” Users can connect a compatible smartphone or tablet (iOS and Android) to the shirt to get all of the information gathered on the screen. Hexoskin will also store the data in the cloud, making it easy to perform data analysis on a computer.

Users interested to get a Hexoskin Smart for themselves can grab it from Indiegogo starting at $299, which — the company says — is $100 off its retail price.

Other companies making smart shirts include Athos and OmSignal.
