The company is already using the drchrono platform in its Berkeley, California-based facility where it managed to optimize the patient experience from check-in to managing medical records, insurance and medical billing payments. This in turn helped Direct Urgent Care process approximately 15,000 patients per year, while reducing overhead costs and improving reimbursements from insurance companies by over 30 percent. To date, Direct Urgent Care’s Berkley facility has 50 staff members that use the drchrono EHR and the new facility in Mountain View will staff approximately 25 to start.
