This vest will keep cyclists safe, smarter

RoadwareZ

A company called RoadwareZ is working on a mobile-connected, “smart vest” for bicyclists that will reportedly keep them safe, smart and social.

Said vest features such safety features as LED turn and brake signals, GPS mapping and tracking, access to a 24/7 emergency monitoring service, as well as a rear-facing camera and microphone.

The vest will also enable social engagement and chat via Bluetooth.“We formed RoadwareZ after one of my co-founders witnessed a terrible bicycle accident while vacationing,” Zena Krispin, co-founder of RoadwareZ, said in a statement. “Yet while developing the concept, we also noticed the growing trend of social cycling in groups. This influenced us to build a product that is equally about safety and social interaction, thus making cycling more fun and interesting whether you’re a new rider, an adult enthusiast or a retired hobbyist.”

The vest will also enable social engagement and chat via Bluetooth, GPS tracking so that groups ride together and stay safe, as well as the ability to find new friends and riders near you. Nevertheless, RoadwareZ will offer its product to cyclists of all skill levels.

The company will make its product available in the second quarter of the year, and in the meantime – everyone can sign-up for updated from RoadwareZ’s website.
