Lightbeam Health Solutions acquires Browsersoft

Lightbeam Health Solutions

Lightbeam Health Solutions, which provides end-to-end population health management solutions, has acquired Shawnee Mission, KS-based Browsersoft, a privately held health information exchange (HIE) solution provider for hospitals, health systems, states, communities and other stakeholders. Browersoft’s OpenHRE solution enables healthcare communities to exchange data from disparate systems to provide up-to-date patient information resulting in better coordinated care, improved quality and reduced costs. The platform has been deployed in over sixty (60) communities within the US and in various global markets, including multiple IHE Connectathons both in the US and Europe.

“Lightbeam is committed to our leadership position in the population health technology space. Maintaining the lead in interoperability and data aggregation solutions is therefore a strategic imperative. It all starts with the data,” Jerry Shultz, president of Lightbeam, said in a statement. “In addition to our extensive data acquisition assets, OpenHRE will enable the two-way exchange of clinical data and will allow providers to have the most current health information for each patient. The result of all this will be improved care coordination and a lower cost of care.”

Browsersoft CEO Don Grodecki is equally pleased with the deal, saying that its product will Lightbeam Health’s population health management product suite.

“We look forward to working with the Lightbeam team and their customers, as well as our existing customers, to provide an industry leading solution that will enable providers to more readily exchange clinical data for the patient populations under their care,” he said.
