Big Health is launching Sleepio at Work, a program designed for companies to offer employees a solution for getting better sleep.

Among the company’s first clients are LinkedIn and the five-hospital Henry Ford Health System, which decided to take this step in order to “boost employee health and foster productivity.” Companies signing-up for Sleepio at Work have found the program saves over $1,500 on average per employee, based on factors such as reduced absenteeism, presenteeism, anxiety and depression.

Sleepio at Work has been designed to deliver population level improvements in health and well-being through better sleep. A recent implementation within a Fortune 500 company resulted in a 54% reduction in stress, 58% improvement in productivity and 45% improvement in self-rated health. Furthermore, over three quarters of employees reported that Sleepio had improved their sleep and would recommend it to a friend or colleague.

“The data we’re seeing from the companies we’ve worked with so far is incredible – we can have a huge positive effect on employees’ health and mental wellbeing by helping them sleep better,” said Peter Hames, CEO and co-founder of Big Health, creator of Sleepio. “It’s a smart ‘way in’ to help them address other, more stigmatized issues in their lives.”

Sleepio at Work has been designed to deliver population level improvements in health and well-being through better sleep. The service provides employees with an individual “Sleep Score” from a validated sleep test, which is followed by a personalized sleep improvement program that could include targeted sleep advice and/or a full course of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) for insomnia. For all employees, Sleepio works in partnership with companies to create sleep awareness campaigns as part of companies’ overall health programs.

Big Health expects to announce additional Sleepio at Work partnerships later this year.
