Monclarity, which is the company formed by world-renowned neuropsychologist and neuroscientist Dr. Elkhonon Goldberg and game creator Anatoly Tikhman, launched Brainwell, an app that aims to improve cognitive functions of the brain. The company has also announced it has raised $5 million in seed funding from Access Industries.
Using Brainwell on a regular basis, users can strengthen and improve six cognitive domains: problem solving, memory, vision, attention, language and critical thinking. A proprietary algorithm customizes each workout to user goals and performance, continuously challenging users and keeping them engaged.
“Games are the easiest, most enjoyable way to improve cognition and fight cognitive decline,” said Alex Tikhman, EVP/Co-Founder of Monclarity. “Brainwell’s games turn neuroscience concepts into fun and engaging experiences. Syncing them across all devices makes strengthening your brain super-convenient.”
The Brainwell app works across smartphones, tablets, and the web with customized workouts. Users get an initial cognitive fitness test, then three games daily, all free. Subscribing members access all 50 current games and new games as they’re added. Free and paid versions can be downloaded from iTunes, Google Play and Amazon.
