According Korean MK News, Samsung is working on a smart band device. Previously LG and Sony have joined this market having unveiled LG LifeBand Touch and Sony SmartBand at this year’s CES in Las Vegas. Other contenders include Nike Fuelband, Jawbone UP and market leading Fitbit.
Samsung’s device may be called Galaxy Gear Fit, and it will apparently include all the usual sensors to allow sleep tracking and health checkup functionalities. The device will then sync with the S Health app which already comes preloaded with some Samsung devices and will likely be included with every Samsung smartphone in the future.
It is said that Samsung Galaxy Gear Fit will debut at Mobile World Congress, taking place in Barcelona from February 24-27.
Samsung already sells the Galaxy Gear smart watch which offers many health tracking functions.
