Grush is a gaming toothbrush for kids

Grush - gaming toothbrush

San Francisco-based Grush wants to turn the brushing chore into a fun and interactive game. Its motion sensing brush and mobile games are made to guide kids’ brushing while allowing parents to track results.

The eco-system includes Grush apps which are interactive games and apps that receive motion data from the Grush Brush and integrate it with a simulated image of teeth or any game theme. The games are designed to guide children to brush properly as recommended by the American Dental Association. The child can battle monsters, fly spaceships, or ride a pony, all while being instructed in the ideal brush position and duration of brushing.

The Parental Dashboard app is used to track kids’ brushing over time and reward them accordingly.Another element of the puzzle is statistical brushing data for parental tracking and monitoring. The Parental Dashboard app is used to track kids’ brushing over time and reward them accordingly.

“This is exactly what kids need to keep them motivated to follow home care recommendations. I am very excited about what this means for the future dental health of my young patients,” said Dr. Purva Merchant, Pediatric Dentist BDS, MSD, Fellow, ABPD ‐ American Board of Pediatric Dentistry and Grush Adviser.

Inside the Grush package, users get a single Grush brush that runs on AAA batteries (also included in the box), 1 Universal phone holder for the bathroom mirror, 1 Replacement brush head, 1 Comic book style instruction guide for kids, 2 Grush games for iOS and Android devices, a parental monitoring dashboard app, and a lifetime subscription of Grush Cloud where kids’ brushing data is stored for parents and optionally for a dentist to access.
