Scosche launched the RHYTHM+, its new Bluetooth Smart & ANT+ compatible armband fitness and heart rate monitor.
The device is able to optically measure blood flow and movement to track heart rate and calories burned more accurately than a conventional chest strap. The dual-mode wireless configuration includes both Bluetooth Smart and ANT+ capabilities, allowing RHYTHM+ to pair with smartphones, sport watches and exercise equipment within the 100 ft range.
Made from a silicone and polycarbonate hybrid, the low-profile monitor is comfortably fastened to the forearm just below the elbow with a breathable neoprene arm-strap. It’s also IP67 waterproof to keep it safe from sweat or rain, and it can be submerged up to 1 meter in water. A rechargeable lithium ion battery provides up to 8 hours of workout time.
“In order for a customer to adopt a new monitor into their fitness routine it has to deliver in two key areas, compatibility and comfort,” said Kas Alves Executive Vice President Scosche Industries. “RHYTHM+ does both, it works with Bluetooth Smart and ANT+ so it’s compatible with all the most popular fitness devices, and the comfortable armband is so lightweight users will forget they are wearing it during workouts.”
