HealthTap says it has the first health app for Android Wear

HealthTap

HealthTap is looking to bring some health guidance and advice to your wrist, having launched what they say is the world’s first Android Wear health app.

The HealthTap experience on Google’s Android Wear helps users learn more, get help, and take action to feel good every day.“The reminders and timely tips are invaluable in helping millions everywhere reach their health and wellness goals, adhere to doctor advice and healthy living best practices, and feel good every day,” said Ron Gutman, HealthTap’s founder and CEO.

The simple to use app boasts doctor-created checklists and actions, and prescription reminders to help users better manage their health and well-being. By simply swiping the watch face, users can confirm or snooze these reminders and notifications, or reveal additional health tips created by top US licensed physicians. This immediate feedback along with timely tips should reinforce the formation of good habits, adherence to prescriptions, and better health.

As an example, HealthTap describes how a person travelling to an African Safari could benefit from the app, reminding them to take their antimalarial drugs while also providing them with helpful tips how to stay healthy in the unknown environment.
