Nine months after unveiling the first wireless blood glucose monitor, BG5 – iHealth Lab is launching the iHealth Align, the world’s smallest, FDA-approved mobile blood glucose monitor. The meter plugs directly into iPhone or Android device though a headphone jack, and displays and stores readings using the iHealth Gluco-Smart app. The lack of display allowed the company to shrink the device size to just slightly larger than the circumference of a quarter, making it super-easy to carry around.

Since all the data is automatically sent to the cloud, users can view their information from anywhere by logging into their online account.
iHealth also announced the iHealth Simple Savings program to eliminate complexities associated with insurance paperwork by lowering the price of their proprietary test strips. The new price is about one-quarter of the list price of most name brand test strips, placing it at or below the typical insurance co-pay contribution. Users can now purchase iHealth strips and avoid hassles associated with reimbursement for insurance coverage.
