Moov fitness tracker gets Android support

The fitness tracker Moov has added support for Android, expanding its reach to millions of potential customers. The company is bringing the Run & Walk app to Google’s platform, offering four different run/walk modes.

Moov debuted on Kickstarter in February, when it blew past its $40,000 funding goal in just 90 minutes. When paired with the wrist-worn Moov fitness tracker, Moov will send instructions to the headphones so that users can improve cadence, keep their joints safe, and ensure they’re getting the most efficient workout of their body.

On iOS, Moov offers a number of different apps, each tailored to a different type of exercise. Chances are all these apps will find their way to Android in the weeks (and months) to come.

Moov says its fitness tracker is different than competing products. Beyond counting steps, it uses a combination of hardware and software to improve user’s form based on their training activity. For instance, during cycling, swimming or jogging – Moov will take note of the way the body moves, helping users to do that activity properly for achieving desired results.
