NeuroMetrix unveils Quell wearable pain relief technology

NeuroMetrix has unveiled Quell, its wearable pain relief device at this year’s CES.

Relying on a proprietary non-invasive neuro-stimulation technology to provide relief from chronic pain, such as due to diabetes, sciatica, fibromyalgia, and degenerative knee conditions – the lightweight device is designed to be worn during the day while active, and at night while sleeping.

The Quell has been cleared by the FDA for treatment of chronic pain without a prescription, allowing users to track and personalize their pain therapy with their smartphones.

“Recent studies have shown that chronic nerve pain dramatically reduces the quality of life of people with diabetes,” said Shai N. Gozani, M.D., Ph.D., President and CEO. “We believe that Quell may help many of these people reclaim their life from chronic pain.”

The Company expects Quell to be available for purchase by consumers in the second quarter of 2015.
