This digital bracelet can fight stress

WellBe bracelet

The WellBe is a digital bracelet designed to fight stress. Inside, the device boasts an accelerometer, heart rate monitoring sensors and a Bluetooth antenna: the accelerometer identifies the user’s movement, the heart rate monitor collects heartbeat data, while Bluetooth connectivity ensures that collected data is beamed to a paired smartphone.

This information is then analyzed by a companion app to detect and determine a person’s stress level based on time, location and responses to specific people. It is combined with personalized, customized meditations and wellbeing exercises that help release the stress.

The companion app’s algorithm learns which meditations have the best effect on the user and recommends similar meditations accordingly.“This is a product that will help the user calm down in minutes,” said Zach Sivan, Co-founder and CEO of Insalveo, the manufacturer. “We’re very excited about this breakthrough product and patent pending technology.”

The WellBe app can be configured to notify users when the stress level is too high, and offer a variety of meditations and balancing exercises to release stress immediately. There are apparently a ton of these “meditations and mindfulness exercises” included within the app, all designed to bring users into relaxation within minutes. Moreover, the WellBe also offers variety of meditation plans for 7, 14 and 21 days to help the user adopt a more serene routine, as well as classes and guided meditations from world class mentors that can “enhance users’ wellbeing on an ongoing basis.”

When the user meditates with the app, the bracelet is monitoring heart rate to show him or her the before and after measurements of stress level for each meditation. The app’s algorithm then learns which meditations have the best effect on the user and recommends similar meditations accordingly.

Made out of cork — a comfortable natural material — the WellBe bracelet is still not available; it is up for pre-order through crowdfunding website Indiegogo for $99 (early bird) or $119, if you’re a bit late to the game. Shipping date is set for December.
