Moodmetric Ring wearable is made to measure stress, other cognitive load

Moodmetric Ring

The Moodmetric Ring is a novel wearable that uses modern technology for emotional wellbeing. It has no buttons, triggers or surface to swipe; the built-in sensor measures electrodermal activity (EDA), working constantly in the background and syncing the data with a connected smartphone.

That data includes emotional intensity which is high when the wearer is stressed, anxious or excited; on the other hand, intensity is low when the mind is calm. The tracking over time gives an overview of emotional changes and makes it possible to analyze reasons behind. This is all neatly presented in the companion app.

Beyond emotions, the Ring can also be used by organizations and research units to measure emotional reactions and cognitive load.

Understanding what causes high emotional levels and what are the calming factors in life helps the wearer to find balance between them. The intensity level changes throughout the day can be monitored and times of highest stress pointed out. An included Practice feature gives score on a meditation exercise.

The Moodmetric Ring is up for pre-order through Indiegogo where it can bought for $199 (early bird). The campaign is looking to raise $50,000, and shipments are scheduled for September.
