Amyko is an up-and-coming medical alert bracelet for people to keep their family safe, while also looking out for their own health and first aid.
Introduced to the world via an Indiegogo crowdfunding campaign, the customizable modular bracelet uses NFC (Near Field Communication) to communicate with a smartphone or tablet, and to “take the medical alert bracelet to the next level.”
The bracelet also has a “Direct call” feature that can be used in the absence of a smartphone.Amyko users start by inputting all of their relevant information, including master data, blood type, allergies and intolerances, medications that are being taken, current therapies, vaccines, prophylaxis, relative or emergency contacts, medical reports, personal notes and personal physician. Users then sets their privacy settings, and wears the bracelet. In the case of an emergency or other health related need, anyone with a smartphone can simply tap the bracelet with their phone and will then be able to view all relevant info on the phone.
The bracelet also has a “Direct call” feature that can be used in the absence of a smartphone, a “Self Help” feature that enables the device to send a text message to a relative in case of an emergency, and a “Medical Reminder” feature.
The Amyko team is looking to raise $70,000 with single unit going for $25 or more, depending whether you need customization or not. Delivery date is set for November.
