Telehealth service provider eVisit launched apps for iOS and Android, allowing physicians to provide remote video visits to their patients via mobile devices. Both participating physicians and their patients can download the application to connect in real-time for diagnosis and treatment of a variety of medical issues.
The solution — designed by physicians for physicians — is made to help healthcare providers “raise patient satisfaction and boost practice revenue.” While patients get convenient, accessible care for minor injuries and illnesses, or follow-ups from the comfort of their homes – healthcare providers can reduce no-shows, optimize their appointment calendars, and get reimbursed for after-hours consults.
With the eVisit app, healthcare providers can reduce no-shows, optimize their appointment calendars, and get reimbursed for after-hours consults.“The release of our mobile app makes eVisit’s telemedicine platform even more accessible and intuitive for patients and their healthcare providers,” says Bret Larsen, eVisit CEO. “More than ever we rely on our smartphones for everyday tasks-including getting access to healthcare. The power of telemedicine is all about getting high-quality care no matter where you are. We’re harnessing that power by connecting doctors and their patients in a safe, secure way via mobile device.”
The eVisit mobile app provides crystal-clear video and image upload capabilities, as well as ePrescribe feature that enables providers to send any needed prescription electronically to over 66,000 pharmacies nationwide. In addition, physicians can get updates on the status of remote visit requests via text, call or email; collect co-pay and bill by charging patients for the visit within the app; and access patients’ health records.
Physicians who want to use the app first have to sign-up with eVisit, and only patients of participating physicians can use the app.
