LG Watch Urbane 2nd edition is the first Android Wear watch with LTE

LG Watch Urbane with LTE

LG announced its latest smart watch, one that also happens to be the first Android Wear device with built-in LTE connectivity.

The LG Watch Urbane 2nd edition keeps all of the features its predecessor had, with the addition of a cellular radio to keep users connected even when carrying a smartphone isn’t practical or convenient. Otherwise, it will sing along the iPhone and Android devices.

The updated smart watch comes with the highest resolution display of any smartwatch currently on the market today — that’s 480 x 480 pixels for a ppi count of 348 rendered on its 1.38-inch full circle P-OLED display. The device also has a “hairline-etched stainless steel body” and “durable hypoallergenic TPSiV elastomer band,” along with a 570mAh battery with Power Saving Mode that should keep it going for more than a day. Plus, let’s not forget the three buttons on the side that provide quick access to shortcut settings such as contacts, LG Health and apps list.

mHealth-wise, the Watch Urbane features heart rate tracking, workout tips and stress level monitoring. It will be available first in the United States and Korea, followed by markets in Europe, CIS, Asia and the Middle East. Details including price and date of availability will be announced locally at a later date.
