Seed is joining the growing hydration market with a smart water bottle that has — like similar products we’ve seen in the past — turned to a crowdfunding campaign to get pre-orders. Touted as an affordable solution with the “most advanced hydration management technology available,” the product is designed to help users remember to drink water, and thus live a healthier life.
The device, made by the company called Moikit, features the Air-Elastic technology which monitors the user’s daily water consumption by measuring the amount of air remaining in the water bottle. Using smart algorithms based on an individual’s metabolism, Seed’s digital lid and connected mobile apps remind users when they need to drink more water. The bottle also measures water temperature, provides the user with hydration reminders, and links with health and fitness apps and platforms, Apple HealthKit included.
Seed’s campaign on Indiegogo will last through December 12th, 2015, and is looking to raise $30,000 to fund mass production. Pricing starts at $29 for a 12OZ Seed bottle, and there are also 14 and 17OZ sizes. A wide selection of colors is also available. The shipping date is slated for January 2016.
