Zocdoc announced a new integration with Allscripts, enabling a connection via API between Zocdoc’s online scheduling platform and Allscripts clinical scheduling software.

The integration will improve real-time booking for patients through Zocdoc while allowing offices to enjoy synced schedules and appointment information. It is available for new and existing practices using both Zocdoc and Allscripts.

“At Zocdoc, we believe in creating open, interoperable technology that provides value for patients, providers, and the greater healthcare industry,” Joaquin Gamboa, Chief Legal Officer, Head of New Business and Government Affairs at Zocdoc, said in a statement. “We’re proud to work with Allscripts to help physicians maximize their time, create efficiencies for office staff, improve access, and deliver the simple, connected experience patients expect and deserve.”

Zocdoc’s digital marketplace surfaces unused appointment inventory in real-time to improve patients’ access to care. According to a recent Merritt Hawkins survey, the average wait to see a new primary care physician is 24.1 days; in contrast, the typical Zocdoc appointment takes place in under 24 hours.

With this new integration, Zocdoc continues to streamline experiences for patients throughout their medical journey. In the past, the company has introduced services to solve patient problems and improve access throughout the patient experience, including physician search, digital medical forms and appointment reminders. For providers, this means greater efficiency in appointment scheduling and more satisfied new patients.
