Dispatch Health has raised a $3.6 million in seed funding to expand its current services, as well as to administer onsite, advanced medical care, improve outcomes and reduce healthcare costs. A number of strategic and angel investors contributed to the round, including EMP Holdings, which chairman, Dr. Peter Hudson joined Dispatch’s team as a board member.
The Denver, Colorado-based company provides mobile, onsite healthcare for acute care patients via a high-tech, low-cost solution. Dispatch Health uses mobile cars staffed by acute care clinicians, equipped with a CLIA-certified lab, medical equipment, medications and IV’s, WiFi connectivity providing access to the health information exchange, and a network of established mobile radiology providers to administer state-of-the-art care in the convenience of the home, office or senior care facility.
Dispatch Health delivers its services through multiple channels, including local municipalities and 911-first response systems, health systems, employers and payers, and senior care facilities.
“Dispatch Health’s network is unique relative to our competitors because we have employer relationships, senior care relationships, payer contracts and 911 diversion efforts in place, as well as the common direct to consumer approach we have begun to see in the marketplace,” said Dr. Mark Prather, CEO of Dispatch Health.
Founded in 2013 as True North Health Navigation, Dispatch Health is contracted with all major payers in Colorado and bills insurance directly for the care provided. In addition, it offers an affordable flat fee for uninsured patients. The company plans to increase its footprint in early 2016.
