These smart glasses can alleviate jet lag, bad night’s sleep

AYO smart glasses

First thing you should know is that AYO smart glasses are not made to compete with the Google Glass. They don’t have a screen and instead of showing you notifications, these light therapy glasses want to make sure you have enough energy for the day. That at least is what its creators are claiming.

“AYO boosts your energy and attention levels, enabling you to become more focused, rested and active,” the product’s Indiegogo page reads. “The unique blue light gently delivered by AYO to your eyes mimics the natural light of a sunny summer’s day, delivering extra bolts of energy along the way.”

By wearing AYO for only 20 minutes a day, you could wake up easier while feeling more energized, with the wearable’s light “gently [entering] your eyes, just like sunlight.” This, according to the project authors, triggers “retinal ganglion cells that send signals to your brain.” Similarly, AYO will alleviate jet lag or make you more active in the dark and evening hours, depending on the program you choose.

Yes, it sounds a bit too good to be true, but the project is killing it on Indiegogo where the maker sought $50,000 in funding and has thus far raised more than $100,000. The AYO headset costs $169, while its planned retail price is set at $299. Shipments are expected to start in December.
