The physical activity tracking app Moves is coming to an Android smartphone near you. Originally it was an iOS exclusive and has managed to attract more than 2.5 million downloads from Apple’s AppStore.
The key features of Moves include:
- Tracks walking, cycling and running and when the user is in transit
- Daily notification that tell users how active they have been
- Identifies locations users have visited and plots them as a daily storyline, i.e. work, Starbucks or the gym
- Super easy to use – no need to register or login, and no need to start/stop tracking – Moves works in the background
- Beautifully designed UI
The Android app was unveiled soon after the company launched its own Connected Apps catalogue featuring apps and services built upon open Moves API. Some 20 services are currently live with more being added each week. The company plans to roll-out full support for Connected Apps on Android soon.
The Moves for Android is available as a free download from the Google Play Store, requiring devices running Android 4.0 or above.
