Lumo Lift wearable crowdfunding campaign nears $1M

Lumo Lift wearable

The Lumo Lift has been unveiled as the second product from Lumo BodyTech, and also the second to help users with their posture. The Lumo Back was the first, and it raised around $200,000 in just 40 days on Kickstarter.

This time round, Lumo opted to “kick the Kickstarter” out of picture and do the crowdfunding themselves. That proved as a great strategy with Lumo Lift nearing the first million dollars in pre-orders as we speak.

The majority of pre-order interest came from male customers, who are responsible for just over 67% of all orders.“Lumo Lift really differs from other wearable tech because it’s customizable to different fashion tastes,” explained Lumo founder and CEO Monisha Perkash. “It’s really wearable tech that’s more than just tech: It’s fashionable tech. Also […] it focuses on bringing out the more confident, more attractive, the healthier you and that requires both staying active as well as good posture and we’re the only solution in the market that can do both.”

While doing in-house crowdfunding, Lumo was able to gather some interesting demographic data. For instance, it learned that the majority of pre-order interest came from male customers, who are responsible for just over 67% of all orders. White version of the device turned to be the most popular one, accounting for 54% of purchases. Black and silver models came in second and third with 26% and 20% of pre-orders, respectively.

As we’re writing this, Lumo Lift is still available at a discounted price of $69 before it goes back to $99.
