Wello is a health tracker that comes in the form of smartphone case

US-based Azoi is launching an innovative health tracker product called Wello. Unlike many similar devices, this one doesn’t come in the form of a wrist band. Rather it’s a smartphone case, that once connected, will be able to measure heart rate, temperature, blood pressure, electrocardiography (ECG), blood oxygenation, lung functions and more.

The device sings along the Wello app, which is available for iOS and Android, but the data can also be accessed from the web to allow remote tracking of key vitals of family members.

“Over the last two years, we have focused our efforts on coming up with a technologically advanced yet easy-to-use tool to help you monitor health and facilitate better lifestyle choices,” said Hamish Patel, Founder and CEO at Azoi Inc. “We are proud to introduce Wello – a not so small engineering feat in microelectronics, nano sensors, imaging, data analytics and design, that we hope will make a big difference in helping the world become a healthier place. We have effectively put health monitoring equipment, typically in large form factors, into a highly convenient and accessible mobile case.”

The Wello case will be available for the iPhone and as an independent insert for use with all other phones. Pre-orders are now open from Azoi website in the United States, Canada, China, Hong Kong, India, Singapore, United Kingdom and across the EU. The price is set at $199 and shipments will start in summer 2014.
