Apple has apparently hired a team of senior medical technology experts, including a six prominent experts in biomedicine.
According to the Telegraph.co.uk report, the new employees will be working on projects surrounding the much-rumoured iWatch.
While Apple is still quiet about its iWatch plans, it did secure that trademark in Japan, among other places. In addition, several of its patents point to wrist-worn devices, and there are also those describing smart earbuds that would monitor one’s heart rate and blood pressure.
It is said that these “earpods” will use Apple’s iBeacon technology to locate them if they are misplaced, and will require the lightening jack to work.
Alas, the iWatch is still in the rumors phase and we’ll likely have to wait for additional few months to get more details on Apple’s plans in the mHealth space. Stay tuned in the meantime.
