Hexoskin — which makes biometric clothing for physical training, sleep tracking and general health monitoring — is adding support for smart watches in its Android app. Compatible smart watches, such as the Omate Truesmart and Neptune Pine, run the Hexoskin app like an Android phone does, providing GPS stats and real-time connectivity to the cloud for Hexoskin biometric stats.
According to Hexoskin, this smart watch integration opens up a wide range of possibilities for sports training and health tracking, and shows how wearable technologies can work together to provide new solutions.
“It is now possible to go run in the park with your Hexoskin biometric shirt and Android smart watch, and share your health data with friends and trainers anywhere in the world in real-time, without the need for a phone”, said Pierre-Alexandre Fournier, CEO and co-founder of Hexoskin.
It’s worth adding that said two smart watches don’t run Android Wear, Google’s dedicated wearables platform, but custom version of Android. Nevertheless, we expect that Android Wear gets supported by Hexoskin in the near future, as well.
