RunKeeper’s Breeze hits 20 billion steps tracked

Breeze app

RunKeeper unveiled the Breeze app for iPhone 5S on April 17th and has ever since surpassed 20 billion steps tracked. That’s an impressive number, one that translates into 8 million miles or the equivalent of travelling from Boston to Antarctica, and back, over.

Users spent 3 million hours using Breeze or the equivalent of doing Forest Gump’s famous run — 3 years, 2 months, 14 days, 16 hours — 100 times. During the process they’ve burned 1 billion calories or approximately 7.4 million cups of clam chowder, which would fill more than 40 tanker trucks (1 tanker truck holds about 170,000 cups).

To celebrate the occasion, RunKeeper prepared the infographic below.

For those of you who still haven’t heard of Breeze, it’s a Moves-like app that chips into iPhone 5S’ built-in M7 motion co-processor to track your movement in the background with no action required on your part. It’s a free to download and you can grab it from here.
