Patient IO now available on Android

Patient IO is now available on Android, supporting smartphones and tablets running version 4.0 and higher. This in turn allows Patient IO’s partners to offer their customers a world-class experience across iOS and Android without managing software development, servers or support. What’s more, as an api-first platform, Patient IO requires zero integration to operate.

Using the built-in dashboard, it is easy for providers to create and deploy interactive care plans, securely capturing patient interactions and important health data instantly to enhance patient care and improve outcomes.

In its blog post announcing the Android support, Patient IO envisions payors and providers mimicking mobile operators and subsidizing mobile devices to make healthcare services more accessible.

PWC’s recent study suggests that over 50% of patients surveyed expect mHealth to meaningfully change their healthcare experience by improving the cost, quality and convenience within the next 3 years. And, a staggering 90% of chronic patients in the US would accept a mobile app prescription from their physician, according to a survey from Digitas Health.
