Salutron unveiled its latest activity tracker / smart watch. Touted as a “life tracking device,” the BRITE R450 goes beyond basic step counting and sleep tracking to include heart rate monitor, and few other bells and whistles we haven’t seen in such device before.

In addition, there’s also an array of notifications to inform users about incoming calls, missed calls, emails, texts, IM, news, calendar reminders, as well as from some apps, including LifeTrak’s own app. Furthermore, the company also included enhanced sleep tracking (SleepTrak 2.0) to the mix.
However, what makes this wearable unique is its built-in monitor that tracks both ambient light and blue light exposure simultaneously. Blue light has been singled out for its beneficial properties for enhancing mood, boosting energy and improving sleep. Adjusting your levels of blue light exposure is easy using LightTrak, with the BRITE R450 helping users get the perfect amount by alerting them if they’re not getting enough light in the morning, or too much before bedtime. This new ambient light management feature is also useful for those recovering from “jet lag” by delivering the optimal recommendation for light exposure based on the current time zone.
