A company called RSens has started an Indiegogo campaign for Aria, which is an indoor air quality monitoring system for Radon gas, a radioactive chemical element; and other volatile organic compounds (VOC) that may be present in cabinets, furniture, finishes and paints.
Using a simple 3-step setup, Aria can be connected to existing Wi-Fi network to take advantage of remotely controlled features. The device display different color LEDs that indicate indoor air quality in the following way: green indicates that the indoor air quality is acceptable, it is a safe place to stay; blue means that Aria has just been powered up and it is starting to evaluate a new environment; red means that Aria has detected a poor level of indoor air quality or a high level of Radon, so, it would be better to check with the app what’s going on in detail, ventilate the environment and contact a qualified professional for an inspection as soon as possible. The device measures a wide range of compounds, including Alcohols, Aromatic hydrocarbons, CO, CH4, LPG, Organic acid, Aldehydes, Aliphatic hydrocarbons, Ketones, and Amines.
Aria is a fully connected device with sleeping mode option. Using a simple 3-step setup, it can be connected to existing Wi-Fi network to take advantage of remotely controlled features. The dedicated app lets users monitor the device in real-time; manage and evaluate historical data; turn on/off the device’s sleep mode; turn on/off and configure remote notifications and alerts.
Several types of data are provided by the system such as a simple index of indoor air quality: a specific index of Radon gas and VOC concentration; detailed info summarizing hourly data; and additional analysis of Indoor Air quality and measured pollutants during the past days, weeks or months.
The company’s behind Aria is looking to ultimate goal is to reach $1,000,000 in funding, so they can make ARIA fully integration with Home/Building automation and Thermostat solutions. Meanwhile, they’ll “settle” with $95,000 to push the device into production. You can pre-order your unit for $199.
