Darma smart cushion, which we’ve already covered on mHealth Spot, has kicked of its crowdfunding campaign at Kickstarter and is killing it as we speak. The initial $40,000 pledge goal has been surpassed in the first hour, and the $100,000 mark has been hit within 24 hours.
The smart cushion is touted as the world’s first “inactivity tracker” that monitors one’s sitting habits to improve physical and mental health. Darma uses novel sensor technology and algorithms to offer actionable guidance to improve posture, balance sitting time and reduce stress.
Working with an accompanying iPhone, Android and desktop apps, Darma provides stand up reminders, posture advice, and stretching encouragement. And as they like to say it, it does not require users to replace their watches.
A single unit is available for $129, and deliveries are set to start in June 2015. The short promo video is below.
