Fitbit Charge and Charge HR leak prior to official announcement

Fitbit will soon launch a pair of fitness trackers, Fitbit Charge and Charge HR, both of which have been leaked and brought to our attention by Gizmodo.

The first of the two looks very much like the Fitbit Force, which the company recalled last year after some users complained of rashes and skin burns. The upcoming Fitbit device has a fuller display and wider band that made the Force feel more high-end than Flex.

The Charge will be a water-resistant device and we hope it will also work under water, allowing users to track their swimming sessions. It will definitely be able to track steps, distance, calories burned, floors climbed, active minutes and sleep quality. Said display will show stats, time and caller ID; and there’s also a silent, vibrating alarm which will used for notifications and as a gentle alarm clock.

The Charge HR will built on top of the Charge to include a heart rate monitor. This will provide users with PurePulse continuous heart rate monitoring for better calorie tracking and cardio training.

It’s unclear when these two will start selling, but it’s safe to assume Fitbit will want to benefit from the upcoming Christmas shopping craze, and have both the Charge and Charge HT in the market during the next few weeks. More to come, obviously.
