The Basis Peak is now available for purchase in the U.S. for $199.99, the Intel-owned company has announced. Those looking to get one of the most advanced smart watches with built-in heart rate monitor can now grab it from Amazon.com, Best Buy, and select REI locations. In Canada, the device will be available exclusively at Best Buy and Future Shop, and Amazon.co.uk in the UK in mid-December.
Basis revealed Peak in late September. The watch features a multi-sensor design that promises to deliver the most comprehensive picture of fitness and sleep, while also offering heart rate during exercise and smartwatch notification capabilities. Peak sports a sleek, modern design with a forged aluminum body, Gorilla Glass touch screen, a battery life of up to 4 days and water resistance tested to 5 ATM.
In mid-December, Basis will get a number of smartwatch notifications, including those for texts, phone calls and calendar events.

Finally, Basis will release a new line of sports-oriented accessory straps, part of the SportVent line with perforated grid design for improved breathability during activity. These straps will come in a range of colors, including Ember (red), Coral, Vapor (blue), Onyx (black) and Firefly (green), all with complementary accent colors. The SportVent line will be available for $29.99 each on mybasis.com in mid-December.
Right now, users can choose between Basis Peak in Matte Black with black and red-accented silicone straps, and Brushed Metal with a white and grey-accented silicone straps.
