FitStar Yoga hits the AppStore

Digital health and fitness company FitStar launched its yoga app in Apple’s AppStore.

Featuring internationally recognized yoga expert Tara Stiles, FitStar Yoga includes customized video-based programs that provide the “perfect yoga experience for anybody, from beginner to expert.”

The FitStar Yoga Premium membership costs $7.99 per month or $39.99 per year.At its debut, the application comes with workouts from more than 300 yoga poses, along with eight hand-crafted Freestyle sessions such as Before Bedtime, a 20-minute session that helps the body relax; and The Flexible 15, a 15-minute workout created to promote flexibility. New poses and Freestyle sessions will be added on the ongoing basis.

“More than 250 million people practice yoga around the world, with hundreds of millions more that would like to start,” said Mike Maser, CEO, FitStar. “We saw a perfect opportunity to create a low-cost, accessible and highly effective mobile yoga experience that lets people everywhere build flexibility, gain strength, and reduce stress at their own pace, without the limitation of cost or the intimidation factor of how to get started.”

FitStar Yoga includes HD-quality videos, custom audio tracks and streaming music support to “keep users moving at their own beat,” individual progress and milestones. Users can connect FitBit, Jawbone UP, or MyFitnessPal accounts to automatically sync their weight and consolidate their fitness activity; and there’s also HealthKit integration and Apple TV support allowing users to put workouts on the big screen.

The FitStar Yoga app is available as a free download from the App Store. The Premium membership costs $7.99 per month or $39.99 per year. It provides users with access to customized sessions for losing weight and gaining flexibility, a variety of new workouts added monthly, HD video, and more. On the other hand, FitStar Yoga Basic users will have access to a more limited selection of workouts.
